Session Description: This session explores the critical elements essential for ensuring the financial sustainability and operational excellence of community health centers. It combines the importance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with strategies for financial sustainability, including compliance with grants management, revenue cycle management, and financial forecasting. By addressing these areas, health center CFOs and financial professionals can enhance their proficiency in grants management, revenue cycle optimization, and financial forecasting, ultimately contributing to the sustainable financial success of their organizations.
The session will present a priority-based approach starting with the most important KPI, days cash on hand, and then working through key health center drivers such as payor mix, provider productivity, staffing ratios, and vacancies. Additionally, we will drill down to revenue mix, cycle time, and other statistics to show the impact on health center operations. These measures focus on positioning health centers as a provider of choice, assessing operations and efficiency, and ensuring sustainability to address health equity in the community.
